Djimi Janga

"Hard-workin', easy-goin'"

Born in the Sierra Leone, Djimi has known severe hardship in his time but he is a man who believes that self-assurance and hard-work bring their own luck. Destiny certainly seemed to be at work when his very first international, a U17 youth match against France, was featured on a high profile satellite sports channel. Djimi performance was remarkable; he single-handedly ensured a clean-sheet for his team and offers flooded in from clubs all around the globe. It was S.S. Lazio who eventually secured the defender on their youth training programme. Djimi was just 14 years of age at the time.

His work ethic never faltered but, after 12 years playing for Italian clubs, Janga wanted a new challenge. So when, at the beginning of the 2005/06 season, his Manager made the move to Red Park Djimi got himself transferred in on the deal.

Quiet, self-assured, and easy-going, he’s the sort of person that you only notice when he’s gone; things just aren’t as relaxed! Djimi enjoys the simple comforts of life and is hardly ever seen without a genuine smile upon his face.
