Monday 2nd July, 2007Fears Grow for 'Missing' Players
In an unprecedented move Red Park City Football Club today called on their fan-base to help in the search for two of their major stars. Captain, Wayne Smalls, and midfield stalwart, Decker McPherson, have failed to contact the club for several weeks since jetting off to the South Pacific in early June. At that time it was believed the trip was simply for rest and relaxation purposes but it has since become apparent that Mr Smalls’s girlfriend had been involved in a plane crash in the area and they had, most likely, gone to help local police with their investigation.
Red Park officials say that communication between the players, estimated to have a combined value of over £30m, and the club ceased shortly after their arrival and that they are now ‘extremely concerned’ for their safety and well-being. Worried Chairman, Sir Bernard Springer, told a packed press conference: “We have been working tirelessly to trace Wayne and Decker but have, as yet, been unsuccessful. Now we want to ask the general public and fans worldwide to help us bring them home.”

Lee Roberts' is believed to have been involved in a horrendous traffic accident. Early reports suggest that Mr Roberts' yellow Lamborghini somehow slewed off of the Stephane Memorial Bridge to the east of the city, at around 4.30pm today, and plunged over 70ft to the river bank below. Several people witnessed the Red Park midfielder, nicknamed Lightning, driving 'very erratically' just minutes before the tragedy is believed to have taken place and police fear the worst, PC Tash told us: "Although we have yet to find or identify a body due to the remote location of the crash site, I personally can not see anyone surviving such an impact."
A brief statement from Red Park City Football Club, issued only moments ago, read: "We can confirm that we are working closely with the police to help in their investigation of a car crash earlier this afternoon. We urge our fans to keep an open mind until the results of this investigation are known."
